Who we are

Altrix Group was founded in 2019 with the ambition to answer the challenges of healthcare staffing.

Working together to make a difference

The Altrix team knew that the NHS spends over £5 billion pounds on agency healthcare professionals a year.

We also knew that 75 per cent of healthcare professionals work through an agency at some point.

And, with a team that has extensive experience of working within tech, recruitment and the National Health Service, we knew that there was something we could do about it.

So we looked at how we could change how that system works, starting with how healthcare professionals book their shifts. And we also looked at how we might use technology to help our clients save money.

From this, Altrix was born.

Now Altrix Group, we have four major goals:

Automating temporary recruitment for our clients

Considerably cutting agency costs

Increasing hourly rates for healthcare professionals by reducing agency margins

Creating a marketplace with pricing transparency

We use our NHS experience to make sure all our healthcare professionals have the relevant qualifications and are fully compliant before they book their shift.

And our tech experience allows us to enable workers to self-book their shifts, giving them complete control of how and when they work.

The result is happier members, who feel more valued and are more reliable. Which, in turn, also benefits our hospital trust partners and private hospitals.

It’s just one of the reasons we’re continuing to grow: we now work with over a quarter of NHS trusts, delivering tens of thousands of hours a week.

And an incredible 98 per cent of our members now use our app to book shifts.

We’re delighted our app has been embraced so quickly. We’re incredibly proud of our team who have made it happen.

And we’re also incredibly proud of the thousands of healthcare professionals using our app. Of how they’re taking back control of how they balance their work and lifestyle choices and needs – one shift at a time.

Altrix Group acquired  by HCRG Workforce Solutions

On 10th March 2025, HCRG Workforce Solutions acquired the brands, intellectual property, and operations of Altrix Group, including Altrix, TFS Healthcare and Soleus People Limited.

With a strong history of growth, HCRG Workforce Solutions previously acquired and merged HCL, Team 24, Medicare First and health and care services provider Sugarman Health and Wellbeing, and works with every NHS trust, as well as local authorities and private providers.

This acquisition will help take the Altrix Group industry-leading app and digital interfaces with our candidates and clients to the next level, providing them with an even better experience and service, as we develop our technology to meet the changing needs of healthcare staffing across the UK.

What does this mean for our members?

Nothing will change for our members in the way they book shifts via the Altrix App, it will be business as usual. The Altrix App empowers all members to take back control of their work life in one click; all members will have all Altrix Group shifts available to them to book in real time 24 hrs a day.

Members will still have access to their Workforce Relationship Advisor who can be contacted via telephone, WhatsApp or by email.

NEW ACQUISITION

Altrix has acquired  TFS Healthcare and Soleus People (excl. perm and AHP division)

Why have we done this?

Altrix was founded and designed to revolutionise and modernise the nursing agency experience – using technology to democratise and improve the service for healthcare professionals and to support lower cost provision into the NHSWe wanted to broaden that offering to a larger member base and to be able to reach and supply more of the NHS across the UK.

What it means to us and the wider Industry

By incorporating the two great brands of TFS Healthcare Limited and Soleus People, Altrix Group will now supply to a much larger number of trusts across the UK. This scale creates greater efficiencies in our organisation, allowing us to improve the rates of pay that we offer healthcare professionals and reduce charge rates to our clients over time, whilst providing more choice of work for the healthcare professionals across all the Altrix Group brands.

TFS Healthcare has been a trusted framework supplier of healthcare professionals to the NHS and private healthcare providers in the UK since 2010. Initially focused on the supply of mental health professionals TFS has continued to grow and now supports over 90 clients, providing a workforce across various healthcare specialities.

Soleus People founded in 2014 is a reliable framework nurse staffing agency that provides both general and specialist nurses to 50 clients across the UK and private sector.

Benefits to the NHS

The Nursing Agency market has been very fragmented for a long period causing complexity and unhelpful levels of competition, often forcing supply costs up. This acquisition will help consolidate the market, enabling Altrix Group to streamline services provision into the NHS, creating efficiencies in scale that will support cost reductions to our clients and increased investment in the quality and compliance of our clinical workforce.

What will change?

Altrix Group will be bigger, offering considerably more shifts to all our members whilst offering better value to our NHS and private clients.

All our healthcare professionals will have access to our market leading App, with the ability to manage their own work life, and access to our Altrix+ loyalty program.

What  won’t change

We will remain a compliant, framework agency, striving to offer our clients and members an excellent service via our industry leading app and our supportive workforce advisors.

Our Mission

At Altrix Group, we want to be sure we keep improving and growing.

We want to improve quality. To reduce costs to our clients. And to empower healthcare professionals to continue to deliver excellent, quality, patient care, as and when it’s most needed.

We will continue to do this by transforming how our clients flexible workforce is supplied.

We care deeply about the relationships we have with others – with our healthcare professionals, our clients, and staff.

And so we will keep working collaboratively to ensure we can make this happen, together.
